Chantelle Mingles With JK

What sort of crazy showbiz event sees Chantelle rubbing shoulders with JK Rowling?

Or gobby Kerry Katona trading childcare secrets with Jools Oliver?

No, it's not celebville turned upside down. The stars had all turned out for the British Book Awards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

Looking fit and fanciable were Gordon Ramsay and Freddie Flintoff. Freddie won Sports Book of the Year for Being Freddie.

Gordon, meanwhile, stamped the event with his trademark style when he told hosts Richard and Judy: "Do I look like a fat *******?"

Poor Richard had only asked how Gordon had managed to run the marathon - he'll know better next time.

Also collecting gongs were Sharon Osbourne (best biography) and Jamie Oliver (outstanding achievement).

JK Rowling won book of the year for Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince.

The first gong she ever picked up was also a British Book Award - but she quipped she was "wearing much cheaper shoes" then.

The awards will be broadcast on Saturday on Channel 4.
