I remember this one movie (I think it was called King Ralph or something like that) where John Goodmans character is supposed marry a finnish princess...

This is exactly my point. Since when did Finland have a princess?? Try never

Well, we ALMOST had a king once. Maybe they still think that we do

And Cameron, that's true. I once had a penpal from America and she thought that we have polarbears here in Finland

And it's not even rare for people to think we have polarbears walking around our streets! According to a person I met from France, we also have penguans here. Well, we do, but not outside the zoo parameters.

Well we finns are partly to blame as well. Few months ago I was in Stockmann´s (a big department store in Helsini). I was killing time and started to look at the postcards that they sell to tourists. Half of the postcards had pictures of a snowy forest in it. No people, no buildings, just snow, trees and maybe few reindeers... No wonder people think that polar bears walk in the streets of Helsinki!!

"Welcome to Finland! Here you can find snowy mountains, few polarbears and penguins walking in streets."

But the no people...

Well, how about few polarbear hunters?

Yes and a weird shaman or two.

Well, at least we are talking about Finland

Guess that´s close enough.

And now everyone thinks that Finland is that kind of place as we descriped it

And all the finns take things (even movie mistakes) really seriously... No humor here!! Just seriousness and facts. (Plus a few polarbears)
