Thanks everyone for your impressions of Orkney.

I've been to Skye - loved it, of course. I like mountains. And trees.

Husband is very impressed by standing stones. We've been to Stonehenge and Carnac in Brittany, and of course we have places like Newgrange here in Ireland. We've even been to the Rollwright stones. I tend to think when you've seen one stone..

Would they be the stones where Billy Connolly ran about naked in his World Tour of Scotland series? I loved that series, it was very evocative - particularly with the Ralph McTell theme tune. The World Tour of Australia was good too, and, to a lesser extent, the GB & Ireland programme - but the Scottish one struck me as the original and the best. I remember Billy poking fun at the audience in Wick. Was that where he said if you take your child out to the shops, you have to tie them to a lampost, or they get blown away?

I actuallly live in Co Wicklow, just south of Dublin, and we have beautiful scenery here - similar to Kerry in some parts, but so close to Dublin that people over for a weekend can get to see our wonderful mountains, forests, lakes and sea views.

Cameron we have a poster leaflet thing of you in the school library!! I was like whoooo!! It says Cameron Stout Needs you!

I saw it just as I was walking out and I had to get to my next class so I never got a chance to read it but I presumed it was to do with the teen commandments thing.

Skye is stunning too! ()^

I think that is where BC ran around naked. Met him once, got stuck in a lift at the Hilton in Glasgow with him - hilarious! ::lol::

Co. Wicklow, know someone who lives there! ;) I love Ireland, nearly moved there.

Do you know Tallaught in Dublin? I have friends there. And Swords also. :D

Suzanne, you do move (or get stuck in!) posh circles! Billy Connolly indeed.

Tallaght is a large suburb west of Dublin ( and Swords is getting very big too). We go to Tallaght to the multiplex - a big day out to the big cinema.

We were in Skye 5 years ago - camping. Got quite a fright when the plagues of midges came upon us!

The Guinness Factory is fantastic especially The Gravity Bar at the top! ;) I am a sucker for historic sites and enjoyed Trinity College, it's a magnificent building. The pubs are good too! :D
