The issues highlighted by political parties in the current UK general election campaigns are almost entirely irrelevant. None of the 'grand issues' are discussed by politicians anymore. Instead we have the dreary debate of what are largely dull and trivial matters. Could the low voter turnout be evidence that UK voters are tired of this style of campaigning? Would the UK public appreciate a new political attitude, with less of a short term approach, one that talks 'straight' to the voters about the long term issues?
With each day I get more junk coming through my letter box, none of it is of any relevance to my life.
