Orkney has been named as one of the top 10 places to live in the UK.
The islands came sixth in a high profile television show - and was the only place in Scotland to make the hall of fame.
It was commended for home buying attractions such as low crime and good education and lifestyle points. Winchester in Hampshire came top.
VisitOrkney said: "The islands are a wonderful place to live as well as visit."
Orkney won its place on Channel 4's The Best and Worst Places To Live in the UK 2006, which was shown on Thursday night.
VisitOrkney area director Barbara Foulkes said: "I am absolutely delighted that Orkney features so high up in the list of the best UK places to live, which just goes to show what every Orcadian knows.
"Hopefully featuring on such a popular TV programme will inspire even more people from around the UK to visit and experience for themselves what Orkney has to offer."
The results were based on research of five criteria identified as vital to home buyers which were crime, environment, lifestyle, education and employment.
The worst place to live list, in which Scotland did not feature, was topped by Hackney in east London.
