An Englishman has appeared in court in Galway following an alleged air rage incident this morning.
Thirty-three-year-old Scott Watson was arrested at Shannon Airport after he allegedly became abusive on a flight from Cancun to Manchester
The captain sought permission to divert the flight to Shannon just before 7am this morning.
Mr Watson was charged with being intoxicated and engaging in threatening and abusive behaviour.
His application for bail was refused and he was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Thursday.
