Barmy Brussels politicians have stated they want to tax Scottish farmers on cow flatulence.

Figures cited by the politicians have suggested a single cow emits up to four tonnes of methane gas every year. It is estimated farm livestock make up 18% of all greenhouse gas discharges.

The EU want to introduce a tax to bring the volume of gases released on farms in Scotland in line with rules set in Brussels.

That could mean a so-called flatulence tariff of up to £75 per cow.
