- A 10-year-old girl has become the youngest in Spain's Andalusia region to give birth, local authorities said yesterday.
The young mother and her infant girl are in "perfect health" with their family, Andalusian government official Micaela Navarro told reporters.
The birth took place Oct. 26 in the southern town of Jerez, the Diaro de Jerez daily reported, adding mother and child left hospital at week's end.
The father is also a minor, said Navarro, who did not reveal his age.
Local authorities are considering whether social services should take charge of the girl and her baby.
