Doctors surgeries are removing magazines from their waiting rooms - not because they are so out of date but to prevent the spread of germs.

Patients visiting their GP are now being asked to bring their own reading material into clinics. Children's toys have also been removed from surgeries due to concerns over youngsters who put them into their mouths.
