Ricky Gervais Blasts Wedding Revellers

Ricky Gervais has branded fans camped out to see Prince William and Kate Middleton 'f***ing mongs.'

The comic took to his blog to offer his take on the regal nuptials, saying: "I sent Prince Harry a text today offering to gag up his best man speech. (True.) He said he was fine. Hmmm?

"If I hear he's done any holocaust or famine sh*t I will sue obviously. I also reminded him it wasn't fancy dress."

He then seemed to be taking a more sincere tone, saying: "On a serious note; I really like Harry. I like William too and really wish the happy couple all the best, as I would anyone on their wedding day."

But then he launched into a rant at the thousands of fans who camped out to catch a glimpse of the royal couple.

Many began camping at the beginning of the week in order to grab a prime spot and catch a glimpse of William and Kate, but Gervais was unimpressed.

He wrote: "But... really. Enough already. Who are these f***ing mongs from all over the world camping out for f***ing days to get a 30-second glimpse of two people from 30 yards away? Christ."

He begrudgingly added: "Still, mustn't grumble. I suppose everyone gets a day off.

"Congrats Will and Kate."

The whole day was great viewing for me - I had a lot of laughs at the fashion, pomp and reverence spouted out from media hakes. but I thought she looked fantastic. As far as I am concerned Kate has made William more attractive to the common people -is that a good or a bad thing? - I think a good thing because we need some strong common blood injected into the future royalty - bad because we will now have dad and mums up and down the land plotting to have their daughter nap Harry.
