Rolf Harris has paid the price for his infidelity by being subjected to public humiliation, a court heard today.

The 84-year-old entertainer had done things he was ashamed of but that did not mean he was guilty of molesting four girls, his defence lawyer told Southwark Crown Court.

Jurors heard that the prosecution had tarnished the veteran entertainer's 'good name' and he had suffered the 'shame and embarrassment' of having exposed details of two affairs - including one with his daughter's best friend.

'Destroying Mr Harris's good name seems to have been essential to the prosecution case.'
