Three swine flu deaths take Scotland’s toll past 50

Three people have died from swine flu in Scotland, taking the number of victims to have died in the country to 51.

The elderly person, who was being treated in hospital in the Lothian area, and two adults in hospital in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area had contracted the H1N1 virus.

Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon, who confirmed the latest deaths, said they had underlying health conditions.
