Jackson proclaims his innocence on radio show

"Please be patient and believe in me because I am completely completely innocent and please know that a lot of conspiracy is going on as we speak"

Michael Jackson has proclaimed his innocence on a US radio show and said there is a conspiracy against him.

Jackson, who is currently on trial for child sex abuse, spoke on a programme hosted by the Reverend Jesse Jackson. He was interviewed for almost an hour.

Jackson said: "I just want to say to fans in every corner of the earth, every race, every language, I love you from the bottom of my heart and thank you for your love and support and understanding during this trying time.

"I would love your prayers and good will and please be patient and believe in me because I am completely completely innocent and please know that a lot of conspiracy is going on as we speak."

Tomorrow, the court in Santa Maria, California, is expected to hear key arguments ahead of a ruling by Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville.

Judge Melville is set to rule whether jurors will hear about molestation accusations made by another teenager over ten years ago.

That case was reportedly settled out of court for over £12 million and Jackson never had to face criminal charges.

But his former accuser could now be called to give evidence if District Attorney Tom Sneddon is successful in his appeal.

Mr Sneddon will argue that these allegations should be brought before the jury.

If he does give evidence, the man, now in his early 20s, is likely to face the same counter-attack as Jackson's current teenage accuser.

In the current case, the defence claims the boy and his family are exploiting circumstances for financial gain.

Jackson denies all the charges.

Jackson's 'past' allowed in court

Jackson says he is the victim of a conspiracy
The judge in the Michael Jackson case has ruled that previous allegations of child abuse against the singer can be introduced as evidence in his trial.

Judge Rodney Melville announced his decision on Monday after hearing submissions in the jury's absence.

Observers say the ruling is a blow for Mr Jackson and could have a significant impact on the direction of the trial.

The pop star denies 10 charges of abuse and false imprisonment and says he is the victim of a conspiracy.

'Parade'

Judge Melville said he would allow the jury to hear about five boys whom the prosecution claim were sexually abused by the singer.

"I'm going to permit testimony with regard to sexual offences and the alleged pattern of grooming activity by the defendant," Judge Melville said.

However, prosecutor Thomas Sneddon said that only one alleged victim will testify.

The most widely reported case involved a teenager, Jordan Chandler, who said he was abused by the pop star in 1993.

The case was settled out of court, reportedly involving a payment of $26m.

At the time, Mr Jackson vehemently denied anything improper ever took place and later said he chose to pay the boy a "considerable sum of money" to avoid being subjected to a "media circus" at a trial.

No criminal charges were ever filed.

The list is also believed to include former child film star Macaulay Culkin - although he says he was never mistreated.

The prosecution wants such evidence to back up and give credibility to the claim of Gavin Arvizo - the boy at the centre of the current trial. Gavin Arvizo says he was abused by the singer in 2003.

The prosecution is hoping to expose similarities between the nature of the current allegations and those from a decade ago, says the BBC's Peter Bowes in Santa Maria, California.

Mr Jackson's lawyer fought the admission of evidence, arguing that prosecutors were trying to bring in witnesses with grudges against the singer.

"How can you just allow a parade of third-party characters to come in without any victims?" Thomas Mesereau asked.

He pledged to stage a "mini-trial" for each individual allegation.

"You can't stop the defence from putting on a full-blown defence and I mean just that," he said. BBC

Jordy 'hiding in Jacko tag'

TORMENTED Jordy Chandler, who accused Jackson in 1993, has gone into hiding because he “doesn’t want to be the Michael Jackson boy any more”, his uncle said yesterday.

Raymond Chandler said Jordy, now 24, would not testify at the current trial.

Mr Chandler said: “He is not showing up — he is out of the country where he cannot be found.

“He doesn’t want any involvement. He’s sick of it. He has had to move several times because he doesn’t want to be the Michael Jackson boy any more.”

But Mr Chandler said if Jordy’s mother is called to testify she will drop bombshell evidence in the court.

He added: “She will be able to place her son alone in the bedroom with Michael Jackson about conservatively 50 or 60 times.

“So this is not just an impromptu sleepover, this is a relationship in her own home, in Michael Jackson’s home and in hotels.

“This is going to be very damaging.”
*

Jordy stayed for the first time at Jackson’s ranch in February 1993.

He says his relationship with Jackson turned sinister after he was invited with mother June and half-sister Lily to stay with him at a Las Vegas hotel.

There were no charges at the time after Jordy refused to co-operate with police. His family dropped a civil case when the singer paid them £16million.

Jordy now lives under a new identity in Santa Barbara, California.

The controversy took a huge toll on his family life.

He has no contact with his mother June Schwartz, who introduced him to Jackson, and his stepfather Dave Schwartz, who tried to prevent any scandal to save Jordy from attention.

Jordy’s natural father Evan Chandler — a dentist who threatened Jackson with legal action unless he agreed to a deal — has also disappeared from his son’s life. Sun

Jacko was virgin aged 32

TAPES of phone calls during which Michael Jackson revealed he was a virgin at 32 and lusted after women are set to be unveiled today.

He also said he hates his hair — which he calls “n****r” hair — and he talks about a battle with anorexia.

The sensational tapes were made by the family of a nine-year-old boy from Utah — whom the star befriended in 1985.

PR agent David Hans Schmidt, who now has the tapes, said: “There is some dynamite stuff on these tapes. They will demonstrate that Jackson is, or was, heterosexual.”

Jackson’s defence was dealt a blow yesterday when his child sex abuse trial in Santa Maria was told that his accuser’s mum rejected an offer from a mystery millionaire to buy her anything she wanted.

The evidence by comedy charity boss Jamie Masada, who introduced Jackson to his accuser, counters the defence claim the boy's mother was trying to fleece the star.

Masada said “a particular person” was so moved after watching the boy, a cancer sufferer, - now 15 - on a TV documentary that he offered cash help and a free house.

He said the boy's mother rejected the offer and only asked for “friendship and prayers”.

Masada — who ran a comedy club and took stars to meet sick children — said he arranged for the boy to meet Jacko after he said he was his favourite star.

Meanwhile, the newly-permitted testimony of Jackson’s previous accuser, Jordy Chandler, reveals patterns in how the star “groomed” his alleged victims.

Jordy’s 1993 claims seem to tally with the testimony of Jackson's accuser during the current trial.

His signed and sealed statement, leaked on to the internet, reveals similarities in the way Jackson befriended the boys.

PHONE CALLS: The singer rang the star-struck boys direct and talked to them for hours.

SEDUCTION:
Jackson appears to move first to gain the trust of the boys’ mothers and selects families with problems.

Jordy’s mum June had a rocky relationship with her new husband Dave, while the mother of Jackson's current accuser claims her husband beat her.

GIFTS:
He let the cancer sufferer's mother use his credit card for shopping sprees and gave June expensive jewellery and other presents. He also showered the boys with toys.

NEVERLAND
: Both boys were invited to Jackson’s ranch, first
with their parents, then alone.

ABUSE: Both used virtually identical language to describe alleged molestation.

SECRET:
Both say Jackson told them to keep the relationships quiet.

CONFESSIONS: Both told a psychiatrist Jackson abused them — but still said they loved him.

LOOKS: Both boys are good looking with dark hair and olive skin.

Jackson, 46, denies all ten charges, which include child molestation.

MICHAEL Jackson wore a mystery blue band on his wrist as he arrived at court yesterday.

It can signal support for various causes, including the Child Abuse Prevention Fund.

Jacko smiled and seemed relaxed as he was frisked by a cop – despite a ruling that the jury will be able to hear previous kid abuse claims.

Jackson trial turns to accused's mother

SANTA MARIA, California (Reuters) - The mother of Michael Jackson's accuser refused an offer of money after the broadcast of a documentary featuring the pop star and her son, a witness has said, as prosecutors sought to counter claims that her greed was behind the sex-abuse charges.

Jamie Masada, owner of the Laugh Factory on Hollywood's Sunset Strip, also recalled a frantic telephone call from the mother after "Living with Michael Jackson" was aired, in which she told him she and her family were being held against their will at the pop star's Neverland Valley Ranch.

"She was kind of in a state of crying, like 'Oh my God, they're holding me here,'" Masada told the jury. "She said, they're holding me with my kids against my will. I need to get out of here."

Masada is a key figure in the molestation case against Jackson. He first met Jackson's accuser at a 1999 comedy camp at his club, and two became close when the boy was hospitalized for what doctors thought was terminal cancer.

The Iranian-born Masada said that after the boy asked him to set up a meeting with his "idol" Jackson, he tried to put the two in contact. The effort apparently paid off with a phone call by the singer inviting the family to Neverland.

But after the broadcast of the documentary in February 2003, which showed Jackson and the boy holding hands, schoolmates began taunting him, Masada said.

Masada introduced the mother to his attorney in a bid to stop further broadcasts of the documentary. During that time, Masada said, he told the mother that he knew someone who wanted to give her substantial amounts of money -- although the mysterious benefactor was not identified in court.

'I DON'T NEED MONEY'

Over defence objections, Masada said the mother rejected the offer by saying: "All I need is friends, all I need is prayer. Prayer is all I need. I don't need money."

That testimony was sought by prosecutors to counter a central defence theory -- that the mother was a grifter who saw celebrities as easy marks and cooked up the sex-abuse accusations in a bid to wring money from Jackson.

Jackson, 46, is charged with molesting the woman's son, then 13, at Neverland and plying the boy with alcohol in order to abuse him.

He is also accused of child abduction, extortion and false imprisonment. The self-proclaimed "King of Pop," who has pleaded innocent, faces more than 20 years in prison if convicted.

Masada sprinkled his testimony with humorous asides, and, when asked if he had ever met Jackson, responded: "No, it's the first time I've seen him." Turning to the famous defendant across the courtroom, he said: "How are you?"

Jackson responded with a cheerful wave.

Outside court, Jackson told reporters: "We can use a little comic relief sometimes."

Masada was followed on the witness stand by flight attendant Cynthia Bell, who served the singer, his children and the accuser's family on a flight from Miami to Santa Barbara in February 2003, following the documentary's broadcast.

Though called as a prosecution witness, Bell's testimony appeared to contradict claims of several witnesses that Jackson served the boy alcohol and licked his head during the flight.

Bell acknowledged that she served Jackson white wine in a Diet Coke can, but said the idea was hers. Jackson was a nervous flyer, she said, who drank wine to calm his nerves but did not want to be seen drinking in front of children.

She said that the accuser screamed at her that his food was not warm and that he was "altogether loud, obnoxious," in contrast to Jackson and his children, who behaved courteouslyahoo

PRESLEY: JACKO AND I HAD SEX

LISA Marie Presley yesterday denied her marriage to Michael Jackson was a publicity stunt and said it was consummated.

Elvis's daughter said Jackson had loved her "as much as he was capable of loving somebody".

Lisa Marie, 37, added: "It was a consummated marriage. Yeah, that's all I have to say on it."

She was talking about her bizarre 21-month union with Jackson on Oprah Winfrey's TV show with her mother Priscilla.

Dallas star Priscilla said she was shocked when she first heard the couple had wed in 1994 on television.

She added: "I was concerned and suspicious."

Priscilla, 59, said she believed Jackson had used her daughter, who already had two kids, to have children connected to Elvis.

She added: "I think there was an agenda. He wanted children and I think he wanted her children."

Jackson, 46, is currently on trial in Santa Maria for child sex abuse. He denies molesting Gavin Arviso. Mirror

Chris Rock: Jackson Has No Chance Of Being Found Innocent

ROCK: 'JACKSON WILL KILL HIMSELF IF FOUND GUILTY'

OSCARS host CHRIS ROCK believes MICHAEL JACKSON has no chance of being found innocent in his child molestation trial and will commit suicide rather than go to jail.

HEAD OF STATE star Rock thinks it's unlikely Jackson will return to his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara, California, when his court case finishes.
He tells British magazine UNCUT, "I think Michael's going to kill himself. I don't think he's going to go to trial and then walk out the courtroom.

"But I don't believe Michael Jackson is going to let himself go to jail. He'd going to take one of those little pills, and that's going to be it."

CHANDLER: 'JORDY WOULD HAVE LIED TOO'

The uncle of MICHAEL JACKSON's first child molestation accuser can understand why teenager GAVIN ARVIZO and his brother STAR lied about their relationship with the pop star - his nephew would have done the same.

RAYMOND CHANDLER's nephew JORDY was 12 when his family pressed charges against Jackson in 1993. The case was settled out of court to the tune of a reported $20 million (£10.5 million).
Chandler is watching the current child molestation case unfold in Santa Maria, California, and admits he can understand how manipulation leads to children lying in interviews.

Arvizo and his brother both admitted they lied about Jackson in a video interview, which set out to portray the pop superstar as a great father figure.

Chandler says, "They're claiming that the accuser told one story to the department of children's services and he (Arvizo) made this rebuttal video, in which he said Michael is a great guy, and now he's changing his testimony.

"Well, actually Michael Jackson, according to my nephew's testimony in 1993, told him to lie. He told him certain questions that might be asked about their relationship. "Had my nephew been asked to do a video or interview two months before he actually was by authorities, he would have lied too." femalefirst

Jackson sheets had none of accuser's DNA

Sheets seized from Michael Jackson’s bed contained no DNA trace of his young accuser, an investigator revealed today.

Sgt Jeff Klapackis told Santa Maria court, California, every bit of bedding was taken but not a single hair or any DNA could be linked to the 13-year-old.

Both he and his brother have claimed they frequently slept in Jackson’s bed.

Larry Feldman, the lawyer who first interviewed the boy's family, told jurors he was never asked to file a lawsuit against the singer.

He conceded that the boy, now 15, and his brother could not file civil suits against Jackson until they were 20-years-old and agreed that if the star was convicted of child abuse it would be easier to win a financial judgement against him .

Feldman rejected accusations that he encouraged the criminal action to avoid the costs of preparing a civil lawsuit.

Asked whether he was contemplating a lawsuit when he referred the family to county prosecutors, he said: “There was no lawsuit and there were no plans to file a lawsuit.”

Earlier, Klapackis said some 69 officers had combed the singer’s 2,800-acre home in November 2003.

He defended the extensive police search, claiming they were only given one day to conduct the entire investigation of the property.

The Santa Barbara investigator had already admitted the scale of the search was greater than typically involved in a murder investigation but denied they had gone overboard simply because Jackson was a celebrity.

Under cross-examination he said fingerprints were not taken from alcohol bottles or furniture because the boy and his family had left the ranch eight months earlier.

“It didn’t enter the investigation at the time,” he said.

Lt Klapackis ordered the investigation to be reopened in June 2003 after talking to Feldman and psychologist Stanley Katz.

It had been closed earlier in the year when Los Angeles social workers said the family told them Jackson had not harmed the boy. Prosecutors say the allegations came to light during the boys’ interviews with Dr Katz.

Jackson lawyers call for mistrial

Singer Michael Jackson denies all the charges against him
Lawyers representing pop star Michael Jackson have asked the judge in the singer's child sex abuse case to declare a mistrial.

They say they have evidence that witnesses have discussed their testimony outside the courtroom, in violation of court rules.

Earlier on Friday, jurors heard for the first time about previous claims of child abuse against the singer.

The star denies 10 charges, including child abuse and false imprisonment.

The judge said he would consider the defence's call for a mistrial next week.

Former Jackson 'victim' testifies

Jackson denies all the abuse allegations against him
Jurors at the Michael Jackson trial have heard from a 24-year-old man who says he was sexually abused by the singer when he was a child.

Jason Francia gave a tearful account in the court in California of being fondled by the pop star at his ranch.

He was speaking after the pop star's trial on different allegations of sex abuse resumed on Monday.

Mr Jackson denies all abuse charges and other new evidence on Monday raised doubts over at least one charge.

Under cross-examination, a prosecution witness appeared to contradict earlier testimony that Mr Jackson had falsely imprisoned his alleged victim and the boy's family.

Mr Jackson is being tried in the court in Santa Maria, California, on charges of molesting a 13-year-old boy in February or March 2003.

Judge Rodney Melville has ruled that testimony regarding earlier alleged offences can be admitted in order to show an alleged pattern of abuse by the defendant.

The star denies a total of 10 charges, including child abuse and false imprisonment.

Mr Francia is the son of a maid who used to work for Michael Jackson.

He is currently married and lives in Santa Maria, where he sells car parts and works part-time with a church.

He told the court he was touched in his crotch area on three occasions, the first when he was seven and later when he was 10.

He said he was lying with the singer while they were watching cartoons.

He said the touching started as tickling and lasted for several minutes.

He described his alleged experiences as "haunting" and said he had needed five years of counselling to deal with it.

At one point, Mr Francia, who wiped tears from his eyes, asked the judge for a break while he composed himself.

He told the jurors his case had never resulted in a trial because his family had reached an out-of-court settlement with Michael Jackson.

In another piece of testimony heard on Monday, a former house manager at Mr Jackson's Neverland ranch said he had once seen three boys very drunk after spending time with the star in his wine cellar.

"You could tell they were drinking - the way they were acting, something wasn't normal," said Jesus Salas of the alleged incident some time before October 2002.

Prosecutors have sought to prove Mr Jackson seduced his alleged victim with alcohol.

The same witness also appeared to contradict earlier evidence that the singer imprisoned the alleged abuse victim and his mother and brother at the ranch in 2003.

Mr Salas said on Monday that the accuser's mother was "at no time... held at Neverland Ranch against her will" and that she had never complained of her children being "taken advantage of at Neverland". BBC

Jacko 'shower with boy'

MICHAEL Jackson was found having a shower with an eight-year-old boy, a court heard yesterday.

His former maid said she spotted the singer and his young guest Wade Robson in the bathroom of a luxury suite at Neverland.

Maid Blanca Francia, 50, told the court that she had entered Jackson’s room to clean it.

She said she heard two voices that sounded like they were playing and the sound of running water.

Then she saw two sets of underwear in a heap on the floor. One was a white pair of briefs belonging to Jackson and the other a small pair of neon green pants belonging to Wade, who was staying with the star.

Blanca — whose son Jason claims he was abused by Jacko — said she could see the star and Wade through the steamed-up glass door.

She told the court in Santa Maria, California, that she went away — too scared to raise the issue with her employer.

Australian born-Wade, now 22, is the former choreographer of pop star Britney Spears. He met Jackson after winning a dance competition in 1987.
He travelled to Los Angeles to meet the singer and appeared in the videos for Black or White and Heal the World.

Blanca said that Wade always stayed with Jackson in his private bedroom.

During his stays she went in to clean the room and only one bed had ever been slept in.

She also said that she had seen actor Macaulay Culkin at Neverland and that he had slept in Jackson’s bedroom.

Jackson, 46, denies molestation, conspiracy to commit extortion, false imprisonment and child abduction.

Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson have led mourners at the funeral of celebrity lawyer Johnnie Cochran.

Mr Cochran, who died of a brain tumour last week, had helped Simpson off murder charges more than 10 years ago.

Jackson, wearing a black jacket, red waistcoat and dark glasses, attended the funeral with his trial lawyer Thomas Mesereau.

The singer described Mr Cochran as a "great man".

Jackson was able to attend the funeral at the West Los Angeles Cathedral as there was no hearing in his own celebrity trial in Santa Maria.

Jackson is charged with molesting Gavin Arvizo when he was 13-years-old, plying him with alcohol and conspiring to hold him and his family captive.

He denies all the charges.

Cochran led the team who helped clear sportsman Simpson of the murder of his ex-wife Nicola Simpson and her lover Ron Goldman.

Simpson said: "Johnnie fought for his clients no matter how popular or unpopular the cause was - or the verdict was."

Cochran played the "race card" during the trial, which many believed helped win his acquittal.

Among the mourners were also rapper Sean "P Diddy" and human rights advocate Jesse Jackson. Skynews

The three of them finally together at last...an interesting trio of characters if ever there was one.

Hanging out with 'O.J' is not the best 'shadow' effect celebrity I would be using if I was him. Oh well, perhaps 'like attracts like' indeed.

The trial continues (says in tacky newsreader voice)
