My heart goes out to her. I have never been quite that low (mainly due to the kids) but bee pretty close.
Hope she gets over this ....life is hard but can get better...still waiting mind you

I'm shocked at this, always liked the girl very pretty and delicate, someone needs to give her a great big hug and tell her there are plenty of other men out there if she wants one. Don't throw your your life away, look at the good points, you've got a lovely daughter life doesn't always work out the way you or other people want it to be, but thats part of living you have to keep going.

The one-time model and former presenter of The Big Breakfast and Dead Famous is alleged to have swallowed some 30 pills before admitting herself to a north London hospital, where she had her stomach pumped. The Sun reports she had also cut her wrists in what seems to have been a "cry for help" following a last-ditch attempt to rescue her marriage to former Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave. The couple have a daughter, Honey. A friend told the newspaper, "Gail and Dan tried to work through their problems to save the marriage, but it has finally come to an end. "She got a bit confused and was feeling very down over he break-up." Gail, who will celebrate her 34th birthday tomorrow, is said to have taken the overdose last week. She received emergency treatment before being referred to a psychiatrist and booking an appointment at celebrity clinic The Priory, whose famous clients have included Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Kate Moss. The Sun article said estranged husband Dan had a new girlfriend. He has insisted Gail is not unwell, saying: "I have seen her since she left hospital and she is fine." |

Gail Porter 'on the mend' after overdose TV presenter Gail Porter is “on the mend” after taking a drugs overdose, her spokeswoman confirmed today. Porter, who has suffered from post-natal depression, and whose marriage to Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave, 29, collapsed last year, took an overdose after a heart-to-heart with him last week. It emerged today that the former Big Breakfast and Top of the Pops host admitted herself to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, north London, in the mid afternoon last week. The star’s spokeswoman said today: “Gail is a lot better and is on the mend after being admitted to hospital for taking an overdose of post-natal depression tablets. “She spent yesterday at Eurodisney, which is a good example of the fact that she is well.” A friend of Porter, a mens’ magazine favourite whose body was famously projected on to Parliament in 1999, told The Sun newspaper that the suicide bid was a “cry for help”. “She got a bit down and was feeling very confused over the break up”, the friend said. The newspaper said Porter’s stomach was pumped in hospital and that the overdose followed a heart-to-heart with Hipgrave. Porter was prescribed post-natal depression pills following the birth of her daughter Honey, who is now two-years-old. The presenter, who is planning to celebrate her 34th birthday with friends tomorrow, appeared at the Valiant premiere on Sunday, days after the attempted overdose. The couple married in August, 2001 but their stormy relationship hit the headlines in November when police were called to their London home over a drunken fight.
