What i meant was, they have let the max security they were providing slip because of the G8 Isnt it obvious that at this time we were most vunerable to attacks?

Current update - 6 explosions, buses and tubes in London not running, phones here are jammed too. Still trying to contact a few relatives who were in the area...

This is such sickening news. Terrorism is the ultimate evil in our world. My youth was completely blighted by it, and I really feel for the people of London.

The timing is significant both because of the Olympics announcement and the G8 summit. When your eyes are off the ball.....

The thing about terrorism is that you CAN'T really prepare for it. This is just horrible.

so far only 2 confirmed fatalities (just heard on radio)

Oh my gosh, thought I would pop in, this is awful, My father works in and around the area and they have confirmed 20 dead to him (works for the police) He tells me 8 buses, I have a good BBC source aswell who is feeding info through, it just makes you want to cry. Blair is doing a broadcast at midday.

Blair is going to leave the G8 summit for a while, and then return later.

The really sickening thing about this is that there was so much pressure on the G8 Leaders to deliver the goods for Africa, and now the focus will be taken away from them and on to this atrocity.

I am just so sickened by all of this.

I just wonder how some people could do this sort of thing. my thoughts go out to the families that have to suffer the loss of a family member or if a family member has been badly hurt by the attack that has happened in London

Terrible news. But what we've all feared since September 11.

As I write this there are reports of hundreds of injured in various places but only two recorded deaths.

Unfortunately this will rise.

BB is the ultimate triviality & not worth comment compared to what's happened but the housemates will have to be told because most have friends & family in London.

They will have to contact family & friends & maybe some will walk.

As I've just said on the other thread this is absolutely awful, why do people do it?

It's complicated, but a certain group people have a warped idea of Islam & a warped notion in their heads that the west is to blame for most of the problems in the muslim world.

The truth is the vast majority of muslims would never want to live under the tyranny of these Islamic extremists.

Phones are jammed..got a call from a friend who has been advised to remain in his office til further notice.

Oh God! I never thought that it was as serious as it really is. I try to surf the internet news.. but so far.. no confirmation about fatalities. Evil people are everywhere!!!

Reuters seem to be releasing more than the beeb.I expect there is a media ban until order has been restored
