Not one to usually just go ahead and string someome up, but these people who run these underage sites, they should be locked up. And why don't the police go surfing the web, trying to find these sites. Surely they must be able to come across some, and then if they do find any, they can get into contact with the person who runs the server, and then get the details of the person who put the site up. Well, i dunno, it seems straight forward to me. Unless they have a strict privacy policy or something, but surely in this case that can be put aside.
I mediate on a site for children.People can only become members if their school pays a subscription ..in other words only school employess can use it(and as a matter of course anyone working in a school is police checked though of course we know as in Soham this isn't even foolproof). The children can only talk to other members and may not give out urls, arrange meetings, give out email addys or any other info.Every PM is checked for content before being passed on.Its a great way for kids to chat to kids in other schools in a safe environment. There are probably other sites that are policed for children but at the end of the day we as parents have to be so careful with our kids on the net.I hate the fact we have to curtail their freedoms so much but there are some lunatics out there
As for this case..myheart goes out to all the victims and their families. What a truly awful thing
