I'm Irish and I've heard this before but I'll reserve judgement till we see what happens. Apparently the IRA have decided to abandon violence and go entirely political... We'll see http://uk.news.yahoo.com/050728/325/fof4e.html |

That just means the Catholics and Protestants will pick on any of the other minority groups instead: watch out local Chinese, Indians, Greeks, etc. The conflict in Northern Ireland is just an excuse for a load of idiots to play army and have a ruck - with serious consequences. It probably has nothing to do with religious persuasion at all. Tw*ts. |

no, it wasn't. I think there are some twisted people that live there that are just hell bent on violence and use religion as an excuse. Every time they've had ceasefires attacks on other minority groups have gone up. I don't think it has anything to do with religion - these people thrive on the thrill of being in some kind of war. |

Just watch how you phrase yourself then......There are nutters of every persuasion...but I felt your previous post was very general in nature (This is not an antagonistic post btw....I really am interested in your take..and perhaps we should take it off forum |

sorry, you've lost me. I was just saying there are nutters. Do I have to say every time (as some sort of disclaimer) that there are nutters everywhere. the topic is about Northern Ireland. There are nutters in other persuasions, yes, but the thread topic isn't about them. It's about the IRA. The IRA is full of nutters. Is that clear enough Pikey?

If the 'Catholic terrorists' were actually as religious as they claim, and doing it for religion then why would they forget 'Thou shalt not kill'? As with 'Muslim' terrorists, the people doing the killing seem to be motivated by other things than religion and I wouldn't call an IRA member a Catholic, nor an Al Queda member a Muslim. It seems political not religious and I have no respect for anyone who kills in the name of a religion that forbids that very same killing. |
