Just found this on the BBC website, and apparently he went to buy a newspaper, and then went through the ticket barriers, and then only started running when a train appeared. Then finally, when a community officer restrained him, he got shot by another. This is according to documents that have been leaked. Oh, one more thing, it was said that he was wearing a big puffed jacket, whereas the leaked documents say he was just wearing a denim jacket. IF this leaked document is true, then what the bloody hell was going on that day

Apparently the CCTV footage backs up what this leaked report says. And seeing the photograph in most of the papers today it's clear he was just wearing a thin denim shirt.
If this turns out to be true what will happen to the police officers?

Poor Mr de Menezes was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

as one reader put it, 'what kind of society do we live in when we execute suspects?'. It's one thing murdering an innocent person - it's a totally different ball game when you then try and cover this all up. This is Britain ffs, not some tinpot republic run by a dictatorship. Someone, somewhere high up in office should have to resign over this. More importantly, someone should now be held accountable for his murder.

Very tragic indeed. Certainly those responsible people should be held accountable.

If only those terrorist attacks had never happened in the first place..

Let's not start thinking that we have gungho trigger happy cops down in London. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances which led to this, and there's no doubting that mistakes were made, but this is a knock on effect of the bombings in the first place, and the extra tension that everyone associated will feel. The person who pulled the trigger genuinely thought that he had no other option. The whole thing is very sad, but let's focus on what led to this ratehr than beating ourselves up too much because of this horrific accident.

Home Secretary Charles Clarke has given his backing to London's beleaguered police chief over his handling of the shooting of Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes.
Mr Clarke said he was "very happy" with the conduct of Sir Ian Blair and his force despite mounting criticism over the killing.

Leaked documents from the investigation into the death appear to contradict initial police and witness statements about the shooting at Stockwell Tube station last month. And the police have been accused of a cover-up.

Mr Clarke said the force had done "very well" in response to the London terror attacks. He said the Independent Police Complaints Commission would conduct a proper investigation into Mr de Menezes's death.

"I am very happy with the conduct, not only of Sir Ian Blair, but the whole Metropolitan Police in relation to this inquiry," he said.

Earlier, the Metropolitan Police said it would carry out its own internal investigation into its shoot-to-kill policy following the death of Mr de Menezes.
