TWO sisters have suffocated on holiday after their pull-down bed frame fell on top of them.
Mildred Bowman and Alice Wardle, who are in their 60s, were sleeping when the wood frame came away from the wall and collapsed on top of them.
Police said cuts and bruises to their hands suggested they had tried to free themselves.
The women, from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, were on holiday in Benidorm, Spain.
Staff at the two-star Levante Club Apartments found the bodies in a studio room on Thursday morning after friends reported them missing.
