I once stopped my car at a bridge because I thought a man was going to jump off. it turned out he was doing some kind of traffic survey and I was really embarrassed but he was very touched all in all its a terrible tragedy

Flippin' eck HC! you haven't half been through the wars recently! for each person that would stop the car, that's a good thing tho! Better to take 'so called' embarassment than take the chance of not saving them. I'm in the situation of having a suicidal friend and I'm running out of idea's. The pressure is immense and God forgive me I sometimes wish this would be over no matter what! i don't mean it tho, i want everything to be ok. HC I'm glad you stopped and I'm glad you embarassed yourself! Well, not glad that you embarassed yourself exactly but I'm sure you know what I mean! my brother shot himself 7 years ago. I pretend that I never knew him to save embarassing my friends, he had a different father to me

You are right about that HC, if someone wants to commit suicide, then they will find a way. There are a few devious ways of doing this. My sister was married to someone who was a faker when it came to this type of thing. They always knew how far to go so they would be caught, thankfullly they got divorced in the end. And guess what, since they have been with their new partner, they haven't had their "suicide problems" as far as i know. She used to tell us all about what they used to do, and the whole family knew they were faking the whole suicide thing, but we never said anything because of her. They were just a big kid anyway, they had never grown up really. |

Issues like this are never black and white.....it really is a case that you shouldnt judge anyone who's not been in a situ you have knowledge of.... Tragedy has no rational explanations but we seek to make sense...thats human nature....but to dismiss a notion because we can't/won't understand it isn't....... Just my opo |

| Post subject: | DAD'S HEARTBREAK OVER TRAIN LEAP FAMILY |
7 September 2005 Mirror By Stephanie Busari DISTRAUGHT father Manjit Sidhu last night paid tribute to his wife and children who died when they leapt in front of a train - saying he would "miss them forever". "I am trying to cope with the tragic loss of my family whom I love so dearly. I miss them immensely and am in a lot of pain," Manjit, 31, said. "To my darling wife and kids, all I can say is that I love you with all my heart and one day we will be together forever." His heartbreaking comments came as British Transport Police released CCTV footage from Southall station, West London, taken last Wednesday. In it mum Navjeet Sidhu calmly pushes her toddler son in a buggy as her five-year-old girl innocently walks alongside. Minutes later she and daughter Simran were dead... killed instantly when depressed Navjeet threw herself and the children in the path of the 100mph Heathrow Express. The boy, 23-month-old Aman, survived the impact but died soon after in hospital. A security guard had confronted Navjeet, 27, about being too close to the track two hours earlier, but she told him: "I'm taking my children to see the fast trains." Her postman husband raced to the station when she phoned him to say she was going "far, far away". After parking his car nearby, he arrived to find his critically-injured son on the line. A small bunch of purple and white carnations left at the scene carry a poignant message from Manjit: "I love you all and will miss you all forever. "My life will never be the same without you all. Thank you for the love, laughter and happiness you all brought to my life." Navjeet, who friends claim was four months pregnant, looked relaxed on an outing to Skegness two weeks ago. But worshippers at Sikh temples near their terraced home in the area also said she had been arguing with her mother-in-law. The former receptionist's marriage to Manjit was arranged when she was aged 20. A British Transport Police spokesman said yesterday: "CCTV does not cover Platform 1 at the station where the tragedy took place and police have not yet been able to speak to any witnesses who saw Navjeet." |

I suppose when you want to kill yourself, fear goes out of the window. People should thank their lucky stars for every happy day they have, because you never know, it might be their last. |

There are things in life we cant make sense of,places we shouldn't go and things we'll never get. Those are the things that defy rational thought. Just a late night musing |
