Post subject:  Rap star attacks Bush at benefit!!

Hip-hop star Kanye West criticised President Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina at a televised benefit concert in New York on Friday.

One thing i love about people speaking their mind in situations where their message can get across to people, is this:

Quote:
West was cut off mid-speech after he criticised Mr Bush, and the cameras switched to comedian Chris Tucker.

^ Now if this isn't fear of letting someone speak the truth about something, then i'm the queen. NBC probably didn't want to experience the consequences of what was going to happen after the full speech he would have made. I could well beleive that George Bush/the authorities would be holding up the aid as slow as possible.

Quote:
It would be most unfortunate if the efforts of the artists are overshadowed by one person's opinion (nbc statement)

^ yeah right

I've noticed a lot that if you're critical of a presidents critics, in America, then you have that freedom of speech.

Personally I dont think Americans have the right to complain about Bush, they voted the cretin in for a second term. They knew what they were getting.

I'm not saying that America deserved Hurricane Katrina, very far from it (I wouldn't wish that on anyone), but they so do deserve that man.

Maybe West was trying to let the people see what they wasted their votes on. In my eye's and my own personal opinion, i think he's as corrupt as they come, and the sooner he gets out the better. I wouldn't trust GWB as far as i could spit, i think there's a lot going on behind closed doors than we the public are allowed to know. At least we the British public have something to be thankfull for, and that's that Tony Blair isn't as bad as George W Bush. I'm sure the president could be getting the aid out much quicker than he actually is, but as usual, when something like this happens, everything goes at a snails pace.

If you told Bush that there was WMD's hiding somewhere in New Orleans it's a dead cert he would have had the entire area drained within days of the hurricane going.

Everytime I think of that man I cant help but think of John Culshaws imperssonation of him.

Yep, when it comes to anything that includes him, that's a different matter. As long as he's safe though, de hell with anyone else. It's a shame that the American people can't see him for what he really is, but nevermind, maybe they'll come to their senses when the next election comes.

Just a point of interest here, but it's exactly 19 years to the day that Georgie boy was caught drink driving in Maine. He had his driving privileges taken away for a year.

Perhaps the reason why he was (is) so slow in visiting the area is that no one told him the ban was lifted.

Hmmn, you might be right on this. Sort of like stopping this all from dragging up again.
