Post subject:  Hollywood Stars Help With Katrina Disaster!!

John Travolta and other stars, have been helping out the people that survived katrina. John flew in 5 tons of food, as well as 400 doses of tetanus vaccines. Oprah winfrey was one of the stars that helped as well. I think it's really good that John did this, even if he is just doing it for publicity, he did it anyway. He could have just stuck to helping people out, but he gave money as well to help them out, good on him. Lets see how many stars get off their backsides and help. I wonder how much the government has give, the U.S government i mean. But about the stars, with already 3 starting to help, others might follow suit and start helping as well.

Michael Jackson to Record Hurricane Relief Song

Created: Tuesday, 06 September 2005

Michael Jackson to Record Hurricane Relief Song Fundraising Project titled:
“From the Gulf to the Gulf”

Within 24 hours, Mr. Jackson will be reaching out to other recording superstars asking that they join him in this project to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina

Washington, D.C. ……. In response to the widespread devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, Recording Superstar Michael Jackson has been moved to pen a song, with the working title, “From the Bottom of My Heart.”

Hoping to rekindle the success of “We Are the World,” which he wrote and produced, and which raised millions of dollars for aid to Africa, Mr. Jackson will be enlisting, within the next 24 hours, the involvement of other recording superstars to join him in this project. It is his intention to record this record within the next two weeks.

“It pains me to watch the human suffering taking place in the Gulf Region of my country,” says Mr. Jackson. “My heart and prayers go out to every individual who has had to endure the pain and suffering caused by this tragedy. I will be reaching out to others within the music industry, to join me in helping to bring relief and hope to these resilient people who have lost everything.”

The song will be recorded on 2 Seas Records, a label owned by Prince Abdulla Hamad Alkhalifa of Bahrain. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Further details will follow.

Hmmn, me thinks this could be to puthimself in a good light with the people, and then start getting his music career back on track. It's funny how when something like this happens, all the stars use this as an opportunity to put them in a good light. Still, whatever the reason, at least the stars are helping, that's the main thing.

Post subject:  Bono announces Katrina spin-off tour

DeadBrain
6 Sep 2005 by David Lee

A visibly overjoyed Bono yesterday announced plans formulated by himself and his band-mates in order to fully capitalise on the recent Hurricane Katrina disaster in the USA.

Bono was joined by The Edge and Larry Mullen at the press conference in Dublin, where hundreds of journalists gathered to hear U2's action plan.

"I think I speak for all of U2 when I say that when I saw the news about New Orleans I was absolutely devastated," said the Irish singer, opening an emotional speech. "In a city that large, there are at least ten thousand potential U2 fans ready to go out and buy our CDs, and now they won't have the chance."

"But we realised that it was grossly inappropriate to sit around talking about lost sales at a time such as this," continued The Edge, 24, "so we decided that we had to show that we're thinking of our customers, and that we're with them at such a hard time."

The band, whose last UK tour ran alongside G8 and "Make Poverty History", went on to detail plans for an extensive tour of the Southern states, with a probable live DVD/CD combination to follow. The tour will be heavily merchandised, and the band promise that for every £1m made from Larry Mullen acupuncture sets and Adam Clayton thermos flasks, "the plight of the New Orleanseans" would be mentioned, "probably on Letterman or something".

It is hoped that after the high-profile press conference various High Street stores will push U2 merchandise back to the forefront of their displays. Douglas Ramsbottom, CEO of HMV POS stated: "We've already ordered three hundred extra Discotheque-era posters for display in our stores, and have the Joshua Tree and War in a '2 for £10' offer."

A relieved Larry Mullen later told journalists, "Bono can be a real slave-driver sometimes, but this hurricane is fantastic news, and all this extra publicity should save us from having to write any new material for another year or so."

U2's next album, 'The Invoice Is In The Post, Africa' is scheduled for release in 2007.

They might get a lot of money for the Katrina disaster through all of this. There seems to be a lot of things happening lately, that need us to raise funds for them. Just watch, next thing you know, there'll be something else happening just after this has been dealt with.

Just thought, why can't the people who print money, print enough to help with the disaster, or would this not be allowed. Just something that popped in my head :D
