Des Lynam says his Countdown co-host Carol Vorderman is "sex on legs".

The former Match of the Day presenter said he was "very nervous" at replacing the late Richard Whiteley, says the Mirror.

But he admitted to finding Carol very attractive.

Lynam said he hoped to re-create some of the flirtation on TV that Carol enjoyed with Whiteley.

Carol, whose partner is another Des, journalist Des Kelly, joked: "I'm going to have two of them now. At least I've got no worries about shouting out the wrong name in bed."
