I didn't think they'd bother getting a replacement actually - it just doesn't seem right that somebody else would present Countdown. Suppose we'll have to give him a chance though. Wonder if Carol Vorderman will still do it. |

What did he present before? I recognise the fact, name and most likely the voice but can't remember... Countdown is an ace programme though

He is a sports presenter jezi, did grandstand, match of the day,wimbledon etc I echo what suzanne said, I think he will be a great asset to countdown |

The only reason I've ever watched Countdown is too get a cheap thrill watching Carol Voderman I'm afraid

You're not the only one Steve!  I read an interview with George Clooney once and he said he loved watching Countdown and he fancied Carol Vorderman!

Ananova Des Lynam says his Countdown co-host Carol Vorderman is "sex on legs". The former Match of the Day presenter said he was "very nervous" at replacing the late Richard Whiteley, says the Mirror. But he admitted to finding Carol very attractive. Lynam said he hoped to re-create some of the flirtation on TV that Carol enjoyed with Whiteley. Carol, whose partner is another Des, journalist Des Kelly, joked: "I'm going to have two of them now. At least I've got no worries about shouting out the wrong name in bed." |

And now I'm stuck with the mental image of Carol Vorderman in the throes of passion screaming "Oh Richard!!!". Thanks SO much 
I considered the connotations of posting the above statement in the shortened sense but didnt want to ride roughshod over the smutfree innocence of this place.
