Flintoff named FHM man of the year
Cricket hero Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff has been named 2005's Man of the Year by readers of men's magazine FHM.
Boxer Ricky Hatton took the award for Sportsman of the Year and Steven Gerrard won Footballer of the Year.
Ashes star Flintoff said: "I'm very honoured to be in such esteemed company."
I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! duo Ant and Dec took the award for Outstanding Contribution to TV, and Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams the titles for comedy.
Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson was given an award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
FHM editor Ross Brown said: "FHM wanted to reward all those men who go beyond the call of duty and have made 2005 a cracking year.
"These are basically the kind of men you would love to be on nodding terms with, they're like the bunch of pals you wish you had.
"If you could take little parts of each one of these guys years and roll it into 12 months you would have had an amazing time."
The FHM Men of the Year awards were voted for by 5,000 readers of the magazine.
