Doctors have delivered a fatally injured woman's baby after a road crash which also claimed the life of its father. The premature baby was delivered by caesarean section after the family's vehicle collided with a marked police car in Irvine, Ayrshire, on Saturday. Lisa Scott, 30, and her 28-year-old husband Duncan were killed and their baby is in a serious condition. Two officers were also hurt in the accident, police said. Strathclyde Police said Mrs Scott, of Girdle Toll, Irvine, was driving a Ford Fiesta which was in collision with the police car on Towerlands Road at the junction with Pladda Avenue, East Broomlands, at about 2345 GMT on Saturday. A force spokesman said: "Lisa Scott was eight months' pregnant and her baby was born by caesarean section at Crosshouse Hospital, in Kilmarnock. "Hospital staff describe the baby's condition as serious. "A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash will be carried out and a report sent to the procurator fiscal." The spokesman said the baby's relatives do not want any further details released. The police car was not thought to have been involved in an emergency call at the time. A premature baby girl who was delivered as her car crash victim mother died has also lost her fight for life. Lisa Scott, 30, and her 28-year-old husband Duncan were killed when their vehicle collided with a police car in Irvine, Ayrshire, on Saturday night.
