A teenager was robbed at knifepoint before being bundled into a car by two armed men, police have said.
The 19-year-old was robbed as he took cash from an ATM at 2115 GMT on Monday in Uddingston, South Lanarkshire.
The teenager was forced into his Renault Clio car and driven a short distance then released unharmed. The car has not been recovered.
A 20-year-old woman, who was at the cash machine at the same time, was also threatened with a weapon and robbed.
Detective Inspector John Jack, the officer leading the inquiry, said: "This was a particularly harrowing incident for those involved.
"The suspects threatened the man and woman and made off with a three-figure sum of money and the man's car.
"Inquiries so far reveal that the suspects may have been in a white Astra car which was parked outside the bank.
"This vehicle had been reported stolen from East Kilbride earlier in the evening."
He said he was keen to speak to anyone who was either walking or driving past the Royal Bank of Scotland in Thorniewood Road at the time.
