LONDON (Reuters) - Jessica and Jack were the most popular names for babies born this year, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Friday.
Jessica ousted Emily as the top girl's name, with Sophie third.
Olivia, at four, was the only new entry into the top five. Fifth was Chloe while Ellie dropped from second to sixth.
Jack was the most popular boy's name for the 11th year running, although its popularity is declining. The ONS said there were 14 percent fewer boys given the name this year.
As in the last three years, Joshua, Thomas, and James were the next most popular boy's names but Oliver knocked Daniel down into fifth spot.
Hollywood stars once again had an impact on parents this year in the shape of Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson. Keira climbed 13 places to 38th position while Scarlett jumped 25 spots to 47.
Cricketing hero Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff also proved an inspiration: Freddie climbed 15 places to become 81st most popular boy's name.
