Unlucky blagman, personally I've never understood why banks charge you £25 for going overdrawn, surely it's pretty clear you HAVEN'T got any money!!!

I suggest you dump a giant whale in front of your local branch in protest as this outrage.

Ive written them a letter, as the minimum payment should come automaticaly from my current account with them.

I was too angry with them today, it all stemmed from me paying it online and it not clearing and me missing the warning that the payment had failed ...

Yes, I should definitely contact them about it. If they are a decent Bank, they should refund it to you. You've got nothing to lose by contacting them though.

I've just been through it a bit with BoS and Co-op Bank when an on-line transfer was rejected by one and came back to the other. £106.odds later I'm still none the wiser. CLEARLY my fault though, not a slip-up by a financial institution.

Oh ,, thankyou for your comments ...

but alas this Blagger who can normaly blag himself out of anything failed this time. Seems a year ago, which was the last time I used any smeging credit card I made the same mistake and presumed the direct debit was still in action as it had been since I set up all 4 of my accounts with the Alliance of idjjits. So they had me, even thou i argued that actualy was proof that they shouldnt charge me .

ANyway, it shocked me that the credit limit on the thing was nearly 20K so i cancelled the account and cut up the card their loss of my massive busness of £7.99 per year ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol:: ::lol::

Martin's card was fraudulently used last summer, he only ever made one transaction and that was for pizza with a well known Pizza Delivery company, so he knew exactly who had his card details. He called his card lender, "Capital One" and he completed various forms, they then refunded him with the total amount, but if they could not prove the card was fraudulently used they will then deduct the money again, a few weeks later they did just that. Anyway, they then charge him an (what they call) "Administration" fee, which I think is verging on the ridiculous.

I know someone who had £1800 taken off his MBNA card which wasn't his transaction. He phoned them up immediately and they said the transaction had been made by one of their cheques and they would investigate it, but he would have to pay £25 admin charge.

He said he had never used their cheques and someone must have intercepted the post and used the one they sent out with a promotion. They seemed quite disbelieving, so he went to the police and got allocated a crime number. Eventually, he had a phone call from the police to say that there was no crime - it was the MBNA bank's computer made a mistake  and that the money had been refunded. MBNA themselves didn't have the decency to phone him and tell him that - he had to find out from the police!

He then wrote to MBNA and asked them to refund the £25 admin charge and some extra compensation for all the hassle and time it had taken up. I'm not sure what the final outcome was, but I know he's not with them now!

I don't like Credit Cards either, if I don't have the money to buy something - then I don't have the money to buy something, simple as. I prefer Cash or Debit Card. :D
