The flyer is currently expected to pass over Shannon around 1620 UTC.
Still making good progress travelling around 230 Knots at over 50000 Feet.
It has been said that with the flightpath the frequencies to monitor are 5616/8864 KHz and 5649/8879 KHz. Hope some of you have a lower noise level than me ,even with all the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) tweeked on this radio I'm loosing things in the noise.

Oh and if anybody is interested there is live video from the control room (no sound).

Just heard Richard congratulating Steve and wishing him a safe landing. Telling him he thinks they get the record once the plane has landed.

Comms audiable from the chase plane ,ground ,and Global Flyer.
Makes the tracking more interesting rather than just having the Internet maps.

Being told to divert to Bournemouth.
Hope it goes well.

Well that's an interesting experience following what in the end turned into an air emergency.
I don't normally track aircraft but had the assistance of a scanner yahoo group for the many frequency chances. The last change to Bournemouth 119.47MHz was missed. Comms on the 136 frequency was lost around 2000 Ft at a distance of around 115 Miles.

Glad it all turned out well.

Thanks for the updates Larry, they had a bit about it on the TV News and it sounds as if the landing was a bit hairy to say the least.

Yes two tyres burst on landing so guess he came in a bit two fast.
Press conference due very soon.
Over 130 live posts via the Yahoo groups scanner group constantly keeping everybody up to date with the frequencies being used.
We were gathered around the radio hoping the landing was going to be good.
I know the windscreen was iced and he only had side vision for most of the descent and I doubt it cleared in time for the landing. So he was flying almost blind esp with electrical failure when the generator failed at over 44000 feet.
Press conference will be very interesting as he doesn't mince his words.

It was supposed to be coming almost overhead here, shame he had to divert 100 miles short...mind a crash landing on my house would have been mildly iritating! :D
