A 14-year-old girl has been jailed for drink driving just over a year after she was convicted of the same offence aged just 12.
Leanne Black, believed to have been Britain's youngest ever drink driver, was banned from driving for two years when she was 12, despite the legal driving age being 17.
Her sentencing today provoked a violent outburst from Leanne. The teenager punched prosecutor Lesley Gilmore in the back, kicked over a chair and hurled a jug of water at the three magistrates on the bench at Newbury Youth Court in Berkshire.
After the hearing, Mrs Gilmore said she intended to press further charges in relation to her attack by Leanne.
Managing to see the funny side, when asked afterwards if Leanne had reminded her of Little Britain TV character "Vicky Pollard gone bad", the prosecutor joked: "Am I bovvered?", borrowing a line from comic Catherine Tate.
Mrs Gilmore added: "'Vicky Pollard gone bad' - I'll have to tell my husband that one."
Before the mayhem, magistrate Margaret Bates took the unusual step of allowing Leanne to be named, ruling that public interest in her case outweighed the court's duty to protect a young person.
The hearing was told how, on the night of February 13-14, Leanne drank three cans of lager then stole her father's car keys and drove off in his car. She had done the same thing on Christmas Day 2004.
Magistrate Margaret Bates today banned Leanne from driving for a further three years. An eight-month detention and training order was also imposed.
Earlier, on arrival at court, the press were pelted with eggs by Leanne and her family. As Leanne was led to a waiting van, members of her family continued to cause unpleasant scenes outside court with one photographer getting punched to the head.
