Teenager Held Over Rape
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of an 11-year-old girl at a supermarket earlier this month.
The girl had been shopping with her mother at Sainsbury's in Leamington Spa when she was attacked in the toilets.
Her mother later made an anonymous plea for information about the March 2 attack.
She said: "As a mum, I really feel guilty, because I should have taken her to the toilet, but you think that they are safe."
Warwickshire Police said the teenage boy was arrested on Wednesday night in the Leamington Spa area.
He is now in custody awaiting questioning.
The offence caused widespread anger in the local community and police took more than 400 calls from members of the public.
Sainsbury's offered a £5,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the offender, while a further £20,000 was put up by The Daily Sport.
Detectives announced two weeks ago they had compiled a list of more than 40 possible suspects following appeals for public help.
They had also drafted in a "behavioural investigative adviser" to help the inquiry.
