Chief Inspector of Prisons Anne Owers said open bags of food and uncleared leftovers meant vermin ran through "filthy" Pentonville in North London.

Inmates were also intimidated by some staff. Many felt unsafe and nearly half said drugs were easy to get.

A Prison Service spokeswoman said: "Pentonville now has a pest control programme. The governor is dealing with allegations of inappropriate behaviour."

Clearly, some of the filth need to be eradicated, and I'm not talking about the little crawlies.

3 strikes and you get put down. Its time to sweep away the social dirt of society. How can those fools whine about bugs ? They have sky tv, etc etc.

Its hilarious how the prison service note about the drugs problems, considering that its most of the staff are the ones selling to the inmates. You want drugs ? Then go to prison, prices in there are lower too ! ()^
