A salesman who made a phone call and read paperwork while driving has been banned from the roads.
Keith Mulheron was so engrossed in what he was doing that he did not notice a police car alongside him trying to flag him down.
At Perth Sheriff Court, the 27-year-old from Clackmannanshire admitted careless driving on the A9 road on 16 August.
Mulheron, who was banned from driving for three months and fined £200, said a licence was essential for his job.
Driving 'approaching dangerous'
The court heard how the police officers spotted the TNT sales executive on the outskirts of Perth.
They slowed down expecting Mulheron, from Tullibody, to pull over but he was still reading and using his mobile phone as he overtook them.
He said: "Obviously I apologise for what's happened. I require to drive for my job and I have two children to support."
Sheriff Michael Fletcher told him: "You are definitely at the top end of the scale for careless driving and for the length of time it was going on for, it must have been approaching dangerous driving."
