Oh waiters in Indian restaurants the country over, vengeance is now yours.
A US Hot sauce manufacturer say they have developed the hottest sauce it is possible for man to make.
A sauce that is so hot, potential Saucees must sign a disclaimer before tasting it.
Mr Blair Lazar, who makes the sauce says it is produced in a laboratory by workers wearing sealed suits and masks and uses pure capsaicin - 30 times hotter than the hottest pepper and 8,000 times hotter than Tabasco sauce. Mt Lazar, who is no stranger to chilli, tried the white crystalline powder and said his tongue swelled up and hurt for several days.
I doubt that will appear on the bottle of his new ‘16 Million Reserve’.
The hotness (although hotness is a misnomer, chilli doesn’t actually burn it stimulates nerve endings to produce a sensation of burning) is measured in Scoville Units (SU). Those who know chilli reckon after about 350,000 SU the measurement becomes meaningless. Normal red Tabasco averages in at around 3500 SU which makes Mr Lazars product come in at around 28000000 SU.
That’s hot.
