A Polish man has appeared in court charged with imprisoning his daughter for six years and repeatedly raping her, drawing parallels to the case of Austria's Josef Fritzl.
The Polish girl, now aged 21, was allegedly locked in a room with no door handles and raped by her father.
It is claimed that she fathered two children, born in 2005 and 2007, with her 45-year-old father.
Polish police claim the man took his daughter to hospital to have the children but then removed them from her, later claiming to have adopted them, and locked her back in the room.
Paternity tests are currently being carried out on the two boys.
"Her father put her through a living Hell," local policeman Jacek Dobrzynski told Polish television.
"She was raped, tied up and threatened with a knife."
The 21-year-old managed to escaper her home in Grodzisk, eastern Poland, last week and went to the police with her mother.
Her father was then arrested at a train station on his way to Italy. He denies the charges but has refused to answer detectives' questions.
The case strongly echoes that of Mr Fritzl, who is currently waiting to go on trial in Austria charged with imprisoning his daughter Elisabeth for over 20 years and fathering seven children with her.
