A schoolgirl persuaded music stars and other celebrities to help her recovery from cancer, she revealed yesterday.

Annie Dickenson, 16, asked them to contribute towards the costs of her expensive new diet - and was amazed by the response from the likes of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, the Spice Girls and Gordon Ramsay.

Annie was treated for Hodgkin's lymphoma and was told she was free of the disease but doctors warned there was a chance of it returning so she is on a £200-a-week organic diet to boost her immune system.

The teenager wrote to stars asking for raffle prizes and the Spice Girls sent an autographed CD and tour programme, Wood donated a painting of him and Rod Stewart, while Ramsay gave her a signed cook book.

Annie also received an autographed Big Brother cue card from Davina McCall, goodies from rockers Iron Maiden and ex-England striker Robbie Fowler and a huge bent spoon plus books and the promise of cash from Uri Geller.

Annie, who lives near Monmouth, Gwent, said yesterday: "Everyone's been brilliant."

Mum Lisa Anne, 41, said: "I've been totally impressed that so many of these big names have offered help."
