A DEVOTED son died as he made his annual Christmas Day pilgrimage to his mother's grave - after slipping on a patch of ice in the cemetery. Builder Jimmy Halpin, 54, was on his way to lay a wreath with his sister Frances when he lost his footing and suffered fatal head and neck injuries. His was rushed to Trafford General Hospital, Gtr Manchester, but was pronounced dead on arrival. SUN |
