A 62-gun salute has been fired from Gun Wharf at the Tower of London to mark Prince Philip's 90th birthday. Despite the occasion, the Duke treated his 90th birthday yesterday as a normal working day, hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace for the Royal National Institute for Deaf People, of which he is patron, to mark its centenary. In the evening, he will chair the Senior Colonels' Conference ahead of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour ceremony and afterwards hold a dinner. His birthday will be formally marked on Sunday, when members of the Royal family will join him at Windsor Castle for a service at St George’s Chapel. Telegraph |
