Minimum wage, apprenticeships, zero hour contracts, tax credits, housing benefit,council tax benefit, free school meals all doled out to keep the working man/women poor. The working poor will never got of benefits unless they get paid a proper living wage. The government has to subsidise because big and small business pay their workers below a living wage - no scheme needs to be set-up for the working man to take advantage of because he never earns enough to - it is all about the rich the establishment big business benefiting off cheap labour, the links below demonstrate how well they are doing in the "so called" economic crises, the only people the economic crises is effecting is the poor. Switzerland - one of the richest countries in the world - does not have a minimum pay level while neighbouring France and Germany do. A key element of the campaign in favour of a minimum wage was the argument that the Swiss welfare system was being forced to subsidise businesses which refuse to pay a living wage. BBC |
