X-FACTOR winner Steve Brookstein has set up home with his stunning Scots girlfriend.

Jazz singer Eileen Hunter revealed the loved-up couple have just splashed out on their first home together, quashing rumours their relationship was on the rocks.

Steve clinched a£1million record deal after bagging millions of votes in the live TV talent contest final.

The 36 year old used the cash to buy a love nest in London to share with Eileen, who lived nearby in Wimbeldon.

Eileen, 34, from Aberdeen, said: 'I was renting my flat before, so I have given it up.We only moved in together a couple weeks ago, it's very recent.

'We haven't split up. I don't know where the rumours came from that we have split but we are very, very happy.

'We have bought a lovely flat in south-west London which is our first home together. Although Steve isn't really rich like people like to make out, he has enough money that he could put a decent deposit down on the flat.

'It is just a flat, not a town house or anything. Steve didn't actually get £1million when he won X-Factor - that was just the record deal he got.

'This is the first big thing that he has spent his money on.'

Steve's debut album, Heart and Soul, is released on Monday and is tipped to be panned by critics.

Eileen is aiming for her own recording success, but says the media's scathing criticism of Steve has made her wary.

Last year, she recorded an album with legendary singers, including Nancy Sinatra and Gerry Rafferty.

But the jazz compilation, called Sugar Vallone, was never released, as Jive Records label - who have signed stars including Britney Spears - were taken over by music giants BMG.

Bosses decided not to give the album a full release and it is only available on internet site Amazon.

Eileen said: 'I'm just working away as usual. I'm a musician,so that's what I do, I go out gigging and play music. If I wanted something really major I would have entered X-Factor.

'I am really sceptical about things after all the bad press Steve has had so I don't really want to say much about my own music career just now.'

Last week Steve told the Record he expects his album to provoke a barrage of abuse from critics.

He said: 'People just want to slag me and think, 'Who's this lucky basket who's just won a talent show?

'Who does he think he is? What's he done. He's just some pub singer

I went to music college with Eileen - although she was a few years above me. She is a lovely person - and so talented...a fantastic singer, and flautist too.
We're having a reunion at the beginning of June - wonder if she'll be there with Steve?!? ::lol::
