Oasis star Liam Gallagher has revealed that he almost became a celebrity mentor on X Factor.
The singer, who has admitted to being a big fan of the show, reportedly said that he thought appearing on the programme might boost his band's sales.
But brother Noel stopped the bad boy rocker from taking part in the show.
Liam said: "We should have done it. The contestants would have been singing Oasis songs. I would have loved that. If Tony Bennett can go on, why can't we?
"We'd have made it to number one in the album charts without a doubt, but our kid said no and that was that."
Celebrity mentors on the show so far have included Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow, Lionel Ritchie and Tony Bennett.
