SIMON Cowell has signed a £20MILLION deal with ITV — the biggest pay cheque in British TV history.

His new three-year exclusive contract even dwarfs the £18million the BBC pays Jonathan Ross.

And he will do LESS than Wossy, who must work until 2010 — a year longer — for his loot.

ITV bosses were desperate to keep Simon, 46, and to make sure more X Factors are made.

The multi-millionaire — whose company Syco co-produces the X Factor — had considered axing the smash hit show.
