Bright new star Diana Vickers has herself to thank for chart-topping success – and not Simon Cowell. The X Factor mogul first got her noticed but last night’s gig in Wolverhampton proved she has the talent to be a pop star on her own terms.

BOUNDING onto the stage with an aura of excitement mixed with youthful confidence, it’s hard to believe that songstress Diana Vickers is yet another X Factor graduate.

But as the 18-year-old Lancastrian welcomes the sizeable crowd with set opener The Boy Who Murdered Love, you get the impression that Vickers has truly taken time to find herself before launching her assault on the pop world.
