ELTON John showed that parenthood hasn't softened him, as he let rip at Cheryl Cole in a four-lettered rant.

Famed for his legendary outbursts, the stroppy singer took aim at the X Factor judge and other modern day pop stars.

He declared today's girl bands were "all awful", adding: "Frankly, they all sound the same.

"It's hard to tell Girls Aloud from The Saturdays. And then there's Cheryl Cole... It's all c**p.
