Cheryl Cole Officially Replaced

Cheryl Cole has been officially replaced by Nicole Scherzinger on the judging panel of The X Factor USA.

The appointment of The Pussycat Dolls singer has been confirmed today by Fox, Fremantlemedia North America and Syco TV.

"Nicole Scherzinger will be replacing Cheryl Cole on the judging panel of The X Factor," a statement read.

"Nicole will join Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Paula Abdul on their search across America to find the next global superstar or group to win the life-changing $5 million dollar recording deal.

"Nicole has previously joined Simon Cowell as a guest judge on The X Factor for the UK version of the show in 2010. Steve Jones will act as sole host of The X Factor."

Simon Cowell Wants To Move on

Simon Cowell seems ready to move on from the shake-up of the US X Factor judging panel which saw Cheryl Cole replaced by Nicole Scherzinger.

At the latest auditions in New Jersey, Simon said they should now be focusing on the real stars of the show - the contestants.

"It wasn't really such a big deal as everybody thought... Truth is, you've got to move on. It's about the contestants. They've got no interest in us bickering," Cowell said.

He said the show will not re-record episodes already filmed that feature Cole.

"Show it. I mean it's reality TV. There's no point in lying about it," he said. "It is what it is."
