Andy gets X Factor boot

Andy Williams is the latest hopeful to get voted off the X Factor.

With contestants performing songs from artists of the 21st century, the handsome Welshman failed to make an impression with his version of Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars, and he was given the boot by the judges.

The public vote produced a shock when teacher Beverley Trotman was in the bottom two with Andy, despite fairly positive comments from the judges for her rendition of James Blunt's You're Beautiful.

Busy Dermot's sinking Factor..
Kevin O'Sullivan

Say what you like about Dermot O'Dreary (and, let's face it, most of us do) but he's clearly enjoying a busy love life. Rhydian, Niki, Hope(less)... no one is allowed slapping bully Emily Nakanda, who couldn't sing anyway.

Meanwhile, the Beeb's campfest Strictly Come Dancing may be waltzing to a weekly ratings victory to leave the stage before Bland Boy tells them: "Loving you!"

The question is: How often?

Back to lone star Simon Cowell's sterling efforts to shore up the sinking X Factor ship and he assures us: "Ever

Unless they're axed happy-slapping bully Emily Nakanda, who couldn't sing anyway.

Meanwhile, the Beeb's campfest Strictly Come

Dancing may be waltzing to a weekly ratings victory - but, thanks to their misguided feuding, the duelling judges risk wrecking the show.

Dismissing Velcro-haired Italian loony Bruno Tonioli as a "bloody doughnut" while rounding on "needlessly nasty" Craig Revel Horwood and hag voiced crone Arlene Phillips, livid Len Goodman stormed: "Why are we here?"

So that everyone gets conned into believing this is a serious test of dancing prowess.

And not just a silly popularity contest where the fans simply vote for their favourite celebrities.

X FACTOR'S RAQUELLE: GIMME DANIEL
EXCLUSIVE X FACTOR BABE DUMPS LOVER FOR AXED STAR
By Lara Gould Tv Reporter Lara.Gould@Sundaymirror.Co.Uk

X Factor beauty Raquelle Gracie has dumped her boyfriend for axed finalist Daniel De Bourg.

Raquelle, 20, of sexy girl group Hope - a big hit with their version of Gimme Gimme Gimme A Man After Midnight - had been dating a French student called Gregory for more than two years.

But she has given her Gallic lover the push to be with single dad Daniel - kicked off the show after his version of 60s classic Build Me Up Buttercup was slated by the judges.

Heart-throb Daniel, 31 has been taking Raquelle out to an Italian restaurant near the North London mansion where she and the Hope girls live with the six acts left on the ITV1 talent show.

And smitten Raquelle has already told pals she thinks the romance will become serious despite their 11-year age gap and the fact that Daniel has a three-year-old son, Theron, from a previous relationship.

A source close to the couple said last night: "Raquelle and Daniel had an obvious spark when they moved into the X Factor pad.

"She's a great catch and he's a very good-looking guy and they have bonded over their love of music.

"It's a big turnaround because when they first met they thought they could never be more than friends because of Raquelle's relationship with Greg."

Friends say the couple became an item after former dance teacher Daniel was kicked out of the competition three weeks ago after going up against Alisha Bennett, 23.

The source added: "Dan's exit came as a massive shock. It seemed to make Raquelle realise that her relationship with Greg had run its course and that it was Dan she really wanted.

"It's still early days and they both want to keep the relationship as low-key as possible until the attention from the show dies down a bit.

"But they are a proper couple - and Daniel has been wining and dining Raquelle and treating her like a princess."

Raquelle - who previously dated Strictly Come Dancing star and ex-EastEnder Matt Di Angelo - has been nursing a secret heartache in her bid for stardom.

The Manchester-born model has admitted she was devastated when her father, Muhammad Naviede, served six years for fraud and deception involving £45million worth of bank loans in the 1990s.

She and Daniel are not the only couple to become an item after sharing the X Factor house.

Last week Raquelle's bandmate, 17-year-old student Emily Biggs, dumped boyfriend Louis Hill, 19, for X Factor wannabe Leon Jackson.

Their romance was discovered when the pair locked themselves in a loo in the X Factor mansion as they were so desperate to spend some time together.

X Factor - Simon Cowell alleged to be fixing Same Difference win

Simon Cowell is apparently favouring cheesy pop act Same Difference so much that people think he will influence the vote.

According to the Sun, the final song of the X Factor - recorded by every finalist but released by the winner - will be a cover of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's When You Believe.

But because it is a duet, many think it will sound better coming from Same Difference, who are mentored by Simon.

He is thought to have a big role in picking the show-stopping final tune.

And an insider said that people behind the scenes are "sniping" about Simon influencing the song choice and doing his best to ensure Same Difference are crowned winners.

"[When You Believe] could be sung by a soloist, but it will sound much better with two," the source told the newspaper.

"People are sniping that Simon has influenced the song choice in his role as the show's executive producer."

Same Difference is actually brother and sister duo Sean and Sarah Smith, who irritate and attract fans equally. They have so far performed songs such as Blame It on the Boogie, I Don't Feel Like Dancin' and S Club 7 classic Reach.

This week’s X Factor songs revealed!

This week’s X Factor song choices have been revealed, and heatworld thinks that on paper at least we should be in for an entertaining Saturday night. The song choices were originally going to be Motown classics, but have since been changed to love songs. We’re particularly looking forward to Same Difference’s version of Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, which we’re sure you’ll agree is a tune with a capital "T". But it’s not all about heatworld thinks, cast an eye over the list below and tell us what you make of the song choices.

Beverley Trotman – Without You
Niki Evans – The Power of Love
Same Difference – Nothing's Gonna To Stop Us Now
Rhydian Roberts – Somewhere
Leon Jackson – You Don't Know Me
Hope – Hurt

And the favourite to be booted off the X Factor this weekend is...

Come on down Hope! With odds of 9-4 the troubled girl group are hotly tipped to get the boot. We’ve already reported today that the girls have been fighting with each other and that they’ve decided to ignore advice on song choices from their mentor Simon and from the stylists (although if last week’s foil outfits are anything to go by, that could actually be a good move). As usual we want to know what YOU think, do Hope deserve to go or have the bookies got it all wrong?

Beverley in X Factor exit

Beverley Trotman is the latest contestant to leave the X Factor after failing to impress the judges and the viewers of the ITV1 show.

The over-25 diva's time was finally up despite a number of stand-out performances in the live finals.

After a stalemate between the judges, the viewers' vote meant that Bev had sung her last.

Strictly hits the charts

EXCLUSIVE WAR WITH X FACTOR FOR XMAS NO1 SLOT

Strictly Come Dancing is going head-to-head with X Factor in a battle for the Christmas singles chart topper.

In a daring attempt to steal Simon Cowell's musical crown, the infectious theme tune from the BBC1 hit series has been turned into a sure-fire smash-hit song called Let's Go Dancing, to be released in December.

Dan McGrath, who co-wrote the tune with Josh Phillips, said: "We hope one of the show's stars will sing it and propel it to the top. Strictly is winning the ratings war - now we're going to pile on the agony."

A bbc insider revealed pop star Alesha would be first choice to sing the song. The tune - which won a coveted American Society of Composers award - was knocked up in just two hours in Dan's garden shed in 2004. He said: "We wanted a theme that gets people running to watch the TV when they hear it. We went for a Latin feel because it had to have passion, balls, excitement..."

Throwing down the gauntlet to X Factor's eventual winner - who have topped the Christmas chart for the last two years - he added: "We're expecting Simon Cowell to be crying into his Christmas turkey."

HERE'S HOW IT GOES..

Let's go dancing tonight

We're gonna party the whole night through

Let's go dancing tonight

There's nothing I wouldn't do, I'm living la vida loca too

Wanna feel your body close to mine, kiss the lips that taste like wine

Burning up inside, so come out, come out and start a fire tonight

Wanna touch, wanna feel your body heat

Take a chance we can dance out on the street

Salsa for my soul, Samba, Mambo, Jambo, Bolero

Shake your booty shake your body to the ground

Feel the sound all around that latin beat

I want more, more, more...
