X Factor Final

Robbie Williams is to appear on the final of The X Factor to perform with finalist Olly Murs, it was confirmed today.

Joe McElderry will team up with George Michael, while female finalist Stacey Solomon will sing with Michael Buble.

Speaking at a press conference in London before the weekend's conclusion to this year's series, judge Simon Cowell said the duets were a "very, very significant part of the competition".

Cowell, who devised the programme, also promised "a few surprises" for Saturday's show.

Stacey Solomon has been voted out of The X Factor final

Essex mum-of-one Stacey Solomon has been voted out of the final of The X Factor.

Solomon, from Dagenham, polled the least number of public votes, putting teenager Joe McElderry and Olly Murs through to Sunday's final show.

The 20-year-old failed to woo the voters with her rendition of the classic song Feeling Good with Canadian crooner Michael Buble.

McElderry and Murs will now compete for a £1m record contract.
