IT'S DIVA MCCALL

COMIC RELIEF.. She's a rock chick for the Rallyoke

DAVINA McCall went from Big Brother to big rocker for Red Nose Day.

The presenter stole the show at the Rallyoke, organised for Comic Relief.

The event, hosted by DJ Chris Moyles in Camden, London, saw some weird and wonderful performances.

But few could compete with rock chick Davina, who literally bent over backwards. She also did a strut and tried a spot of headbanging.

Others taking part included Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding, Kelly Osbourne and Jamelia.

Comic Relief Does Fame Academy Final

TaraFor the final, the show had moved from the Academy (in County Hall) to the Comic Relief studio.

Tricia was out first singing If I Ain’t Got You, which she sang originally on Day 7. It was a good performance and the judges loved it, of course.

Tara, unsurprisingly, was absolutely terrified and, also unsurprisingly, did These Boots Are Made For Walking again, but this time with some special Red Nose Day boots. Even though that’s - what? - the third time she’s done that song, it’s made me laugh every time. The judges loved that too, of course. Well, did anyone really think they were going to be critical in the final?

Apparently over the past two weeks there have been 101 performances. Do you know, never mind the students, I deserve a medal!

Triciapenrose Before the winner was revealed, all the celebrity students were trotted out again (apart from Ray Stubbs who was too ill). There was very little ceremony, Patrick Kielty simply opened a gold envelope and announced ... Tara as the winner.

I was so pleased, because if I’ve ever seen anyone on a reality show that winning would mean a lot to, it’s Tara.

Goodness, that was much quicker than usual, wasn’t it? Giving it just 5 minutes stuck in the middle of Comic Relief was a bit of an anticlimax, but I guess that’s what the whole thing was building up to. Anyway, I enjoyed it very much.

Tara to star in Osbournes-style show

Fame Academy winner Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and her family are set to star in an upmarket version of the hit fly-on-the-wall TV series The Osbournes.

Cameras will follow the lives of Tara, mum Patti, the It Girl’s author sister Santa and brother James, a successful banker, according to reports in The Sun.

But her landowner dad Charles — who is friends with Prince Charles — is apparently still being wooed by telly bosses.

The family hopes that the show will be as successful as the award-winning series featuring rocker Ozzy Osbourne, wife Sharon and kids Kelly and Jack.

An insider said: "Tara's family are a fascinating bunch and quite eccentric."

Party girl Tara, 35, has certainly gained in popularity after beating actress Tricia Penrose in the final of the BBC's Comic Relief Does Fame Academy on Red Nose Day.

Comic Relief - Tara-Palmer Tomkinson Is Kooked Up
12th Apr 07
TARA-Palmer Tomkinson is “reassuringly crazed”.

So says OK!, which catches up “kooky, wild and unpredictable” T P-T as she wears a succession of clothes at the Mayfair Hotel.

As OK! arrives, whacky Tara pours the team a glass of champagne. She almost slips out of her towelling dressing gown. She then “kicks off a 15-minute rant” about her not being on drugs.

But T P-T is about so much more than being rich and not on drugs. “But let me tell you,” says she, “I wasn’t on drugs, as everyone thought.”

Tara is talking about her singing part on Comic Relief Does Fame Academy.

“People think because I’m shivering when I’m cold or sweating when I’m on the TV, I must be on back on drugs.”

Sure. Right. But that about your life and how…

“It doesn’t matter what I do in my life, whether I’m late or overweight or underweight, it will always be because I’m on drugs.” But you’re not. “But I’m not on drugs anymore. I sweated on Fame Academy through fear, not because I was high.”

So about those shoes and…

“It kills me when people make cheap shots and say I was on drugs. It would be easy for me to do a line, it’s easier to get a line of coke than a drink in London these days.”

Right one on first, or left one, do tell...

“Yes I get p***ed, I get merry, I slur my words. I smoke too much, I drink too much.”

Did you choose the shoes first or after the tights and the...

“But to be honest, I don’t care if people think I’m on drugs… They should have seen me when I was, I couldn’t get out of the cupboard, I was introverted – psychosis paranoia and vomiting and the rest.”

But Tara does not feel down. As she tells us: “When I sit there feeling sorry for myself, I think about the single woman with the three children and the husband who has just walked out. And I know these people. Just because I’m from Gosford Park doesn’t mean I don’t know these people. They are part of my life.”

So, Tara, about those drugs…
