To be honest RTVF I really didn't care this year! Last year I was heavily into interactive when it was down to the last five... this year I've watched hardly any at all.

Well I'm devastated ! I really do not understand what it is that so many folk see in Alex. I really don't. Alistair is a star.

I agree Eejay. My son summed it up for me tonight when he said "She won? She sounds like she's singing thru her nose and you can't understand what she's singing?"

I mean, and I am not trying to be deliberately nasty, but Alex just ruins one classic after another. IMO, she took 'Imagine', and flushed it down the loo. She sang that great song without an ounce of emotion, just that ridiculous grin that is permanaently sketched on her face.

Well I don't watch it usually but I did catch some tonight....and just from what I saw on tonight's show I can see what everyones on about with this bias towards Alex.
It was like ''ooh let's go and see how Alex is feeling''...all I heard was Alex Alex Alex...and my boyfriend who watches all the time said it's been like that all along. I'd only came in and watched the last 20 minutes of the first of tonights shows and it was all her. I wasn't even sure who Alistar was to be honest..poor bloke hardly got a look in.
Like I said I don't watch it usually but I knew who Alex was but wasn't sure which one was Alistar..just goes to show that it must be biased.
And everyone I speak to didn't seem to want her to win...Maybe people vioted for her because they think it's cool and in fashion to be an Avril Lavigne/Sinead O conner type lesbian at the moment. I don't thing we need another troubled tortured-soul full of angst teenager type. BORING!

The point that comes to mind is, even if we accept that she is an 'adequate' singer of some sort, how many records can she cut and sell as th 'troubled tortured-soul full of angst ...'' ? One or two before the public loses interest and switches off.

I thought Alistair was robbed blind. The biased shown towards Alex embarrassed even her. She butchered Imagine (nice of them to give her the 'Nation's Favourite Song' and Ali some old crap from the 60's/70's)

And Daniel 'Barney Rubble' Bedingfield If only he spouted that **** earlier Ali would've got through.

And as for the smug faced teachers at the end

I agree with all of what you said.

She is not as great as what the teachers make out AT ALL.

I do not like her voice one bit to be honest and that show last night was so unfair. It was sooooooo biast towards alex. Last year it was not like that at all, they were fair towards all three.

I REALLy wanted Carolynne to win When she got voted out I'd of prefered alistair to win cos i think he is quite good and I LOVE bring it on.

Also that idiot daniel beddingfield. What he said about Alex was so unfair, he didn't even mention Alistair. Patrick was like yes and alistairs pretty good to.

I am VERY disappointed in FA this year, very disappointed.

That's because they got the result that they had been so openly campaigning for. It's almost as if the record company providing the contract had been promise the winner of its choice !

Well, WHAT A SURPRISE. she won!!

I was saying to my friends, who were watching the show with me last night, 'What is it those "teachers" and almost everyone else sees in Alex that I just don't?" We all agreed we basically couldn't see anything that deserves the platitudes and praise she has garnered over the past nine weeks. In fact I actually find her nasal vocal-style quite agitating.

We also cringed when that idiot Daniel Bedingfield "told" everyone to vote for Alex. As if anyone with a clue would let themselves be instructed by him. His appearances on FA smack of desperation to plug his album.

Anyway, moan over. Alex won. Something we could have predicted from week two. Not because she was amazing, or even that good, but because of the HYPE. It seems to be a pattern Endemol like to take. A reality gameshow that leaves nobody guessing or particularly interested as the result seems to be decided near the beginning of each series.

I agree with what you've said. I really wanted Carolynne to win. I love 'Bring it on' as well. Alistair really looked happy singing that and the song really suited him. He obviously knows what he sings best.

The show was so biased in favour of Alex. Also, I think they thought that people were voting for Alistair because of his songwriting capabilities, so they thought they would get Alex to show her songwriting ability and then praise it to high heaven in order to get her some more votes.

I thought that Alex absolutely ruined one of my all time favourite songs - Imagine. I noticed that Alex has a very restricted range of notes that she can sing and changes the notes in each song to accommodate her voice, because she is not able to reach the proper notes.

I felt really sorry for Alistair when Daniel Bedingfield told everyone to vote for Alex. It's a wonder it didn't put him off his singing.

I'm so annoyed about it. I've been thinking about it all day and it is really irritating.

I really don't see what people see in her voice. I think it's horrible, my mums like 'well she's different' and I'm like whatever you say!
